We listen, act, and transform
Hi, I’m Fran Bax, a licensed counselor in New York and Nevada with over 30 years of experience helping people navigate stress, anxiety, addiction, relationships, and life’s toughest challenges.
My style is warm, interactive, and compassionate—I believe in respect without judgment. I use a mix of evidence-based and eclectic approaches to motivate clients and support real behavior change, such as Cognitive Based Therapy, motivational interviewing, and humanistic counseling, to fit your unique needs.
Over the years, I’ve coordinated projects and care plans with a focus on time-limited, solution-focused interventions. I enjoy strategic planning, problem-solving, and collaborating with community leaders to make programs stronger and more effective.
A large part of my work has been with individuals referred by the legal system, including parole boards. I’ve provided treatment and supervision for clients with a wide range of charges, from non-violent offenses to more serious cases, helping them move forward in healthier ways.
Another passion of mine is working with athletes—both amateur and professional, including top-ranked bowlers. I help them strengthen their mental game so they can perform at their best on the lanes, on the field, or wherever they compete.
I earned my master’s degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from Canisius University in Buffalo, and I stay connected with my field through memberships in the American Counselors Association, the New York State Counselors Association, and the National Association of Social Workers.
I know it takes real courage to seek a happier, more fulfilling life and take those first steps toward change. If you’re ready, I’ll be here to support and empower you. Together, we’ll create a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs so you can explore new ways of thinking, feeling, and living.
